Official Android Lollipop firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been released, those who haven’t yet got it can now flash the official firmware manually using ODIN. So, we’ll tell you How to upgrade your Samsung Galaxy Note to Official Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Note: This is not a custom ROM, but the official version of Android 5.1 Lollipop by Samsung, and if you’re using a rooted Galaxy Note 4, you’ll soon lose the root access and even the custom recovery you’ve installed.

Note again: You can always flash a custom recovery and root your Samsung Galaxy Note 4. So, you shouldn’t worry about it!

Note again and again: Download the latest USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. (Google that up, if you haven’t downloaded it)

Let’s hit the tutorial

  • Download the Official Android 5.1 Firmware for your Galaxy Note 4 from here.
  • Download ODIN 3 from here.
  • Shut down your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and boot into the download mode. Don’t know how? Seriously? Okay, so press and hold the volume down button, the home button and the power button, and you’ll be in the download mode.
  • Open ODIN on your computer and then connect your Galaxy Note 4 to the PC.
  • If you’ve done it right, then the ID: COM boxes will turn yellow and start displaying the port number.
  • Now, click on PDA and select the file with CODE in its file name (from the files which you’ve downloaded in the step 1)
  • Click on PHONE and now select the file with MODEM in its file name.
  • Click on CSC and now select the file with CSC  in its file name.
  • Click on PIT and select the file with .pit extension

  • Now, destroy the start button (yeah, I meant click).
  • The installation might take a few minutes and once its done, your phone will reboot to Android 5.1 Official version.
  • Don’t just stand there. Show some moves, cause you’ve installed Android 5.1 Lollipop on your Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
